You see, The Green Scapular is a Holy Catholic Sacramental which can be employed to cause a change of heart in souls, and to help bring about The Triumph Of The Immaculate Heart of Mary as promised at Fatima. The Green Scapular Is The
Easiest Scapular To Use Because: 1. There is no investiture for The Green Scapular! 2. It must be blessed by a priest, but there are no special words required! 3. It should be given with great confidence, because you are requesting the direct assistance of THE MOST POWERFUL SAINT IN HEAVEN, Mary, the Queen of Heaven and Earth ! (prefigured in O. T. Typology in 3 Kings 2: 19 and fulfilled in the New Testament in Apocalypse 12: 1) Mary is also the Most Holy Mother Of God, Jesus Christ, the King of Heaven and Earth! This Green Scapular of the I.H.M. will greatly assist us in our proper devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!! 4. Someone must say the following prayer as often as possible: (but at least once daily) "IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY,
PRAY FOR US NOW
AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH!"
This prayer is printed on
the reverse of The Green Scapular. One can say this prayer for another soul with secrecy. No one else needs to know that you are praying this prayer frequently for another soul. In this way, The Green Scapular can be used as a powerful spiritual secret weapon, because it may be hidden in someone's clothing, or bedding, or room! The efficacy of The Green Scapular depends upon the amount and the sincerity of the intercessory prayers offered for the salvation of the other soul! With greater amounts of pious prayer, one will achieve greater results in an effort to turn someone's heart to the Lord! The History of The Green Scapular has been shrouded in mystery for many years. However, it is to our last two centuries of Salvation History that The Green Scapular has been revealed, in order to rescue souls and bring them back to God through devotion to The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Those who die wearing this Holy Sacramental of the Catholic Church will escape the eternal fires of Hell. The Green Scapular enjoys privileges similar to the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It will not keep you from Purgatory, for most souls die in a state that is less than perfect, and most souls still have some repentance (purgation) to do. SOME HISTORY OF THE GREEN SCAPULAR A first manifestation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was given to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830. Mary gave the design of the Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine Laboure in the Chapel of the Motherhouse of the Daughters of Charity on Nov. 27, 1830, in the city of Paris, France. On the reverse side of the Miraculous Medal, the Immaculate Heart of Mary appears, pierced with a sword, opposite the Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns and surmounted by a cross. Then, in 1840, Mary appeared again to another Daughter of Charity, Sister Justine Bisqueyburu. On Jan. 28, 1840, Sister Justine was at prayer when the Blessed Virgin Mary first appeared to her. The Blessed Mother was dressed in a long white gown which reached to her feet, which were bare. Over this gown she wore a mantle of light blue. She wore no veil, and her hair was hanging loosely about her. She held her heart in her hands, and abundant flames proceeded out from the top of her heart. Sister Justine was struck by the majesty and the beauty of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sister Justine Bisqueyburu was graced with this same apparition many times on the principle Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, while Sister Justine was in training during her novitiate. These apparitions served to increase Sister Justine's devotion to Mary and her Immaculate Heart! They also served as preparation for further future events in the life and mission of this young novice! On Sept. 8, 1840, on the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, the Blessed Mother once again appeared to Sister Justine. Mary was holding her heart in her right hand, and the heart was surmounted by flames. In Mary's left hand, Mary was holding something very special and holy, THE GREEN SCAPULAR!!! The Green Scapular consists of a single green string that acts as a necklace which holds a two-sided picture on green cloth. It may be worn like a blessed medal. One side of The Green Scapular has a picture of the Blessed Mother, which is a depiction of Mary as she appeared in the preceding apparitions, with long flowing hair and her exposed Immaculate Heart, pierced by a sword, and with flames proceeding from the top of her heart. The other side has a heart all ablaze at the top of the heart. A large sword pierces this Immaculate Heart, and blood drips from its wounds. This Immaculate Heart Of Mary is surmounted by a cross and encircled by an oval shaped inscription which contains a prayer to the Immaculate Heart: "IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, PRAY FOR US,
NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH." At the time that Sister Justine saw the vision, she heard an interior voice telling her that this holy picture would contribute to the conversion of souls, and procure for them a good death. Copies should be made as soon as possible and distributed with confidence. The prayer of The Green Scapular must be said every day, either by the person wearing The Green Scapular or by another person, for that other soul. In another apparition in 1846, Sister Justine Bisqueyburu saw rays of different lengths coming from the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary and reaching to the hem of her garment! And on Sept. 8, 1846, the Blessed Mother appeared to Sister Justine with her hands filled with rays! Mary explained to Sister Justine that The Green Scapular was not like other scapulars!
It would (1) hang by a string like a medal, and (2) no special formula was necessary to bless it. It sufficed that it be blessed by a priest and (3) be worn by the sinner that we wanted to be converted. Or, (4) unknown to the sinner, it may be hidden in his clothes, or bed, or room! Every day (5) one particular prayer should be said for the sinner: the prayer that forms the inscription on the reverse side of The Green Scapular: "IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, PRAY FOR US,
NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH." If the person who receives The Green Scapular cannot or will not pray this prayer, then someone else must say this prayer for that person!!! The greatest of graces accompany the use of The Green Scapular! It has been given to us in this period of Salvation History because God knows that we need special help and grace in this time of tremendous evil. We are battling an entire "CULTURE OF DEATH", and we need devotion to The Immaculate Heart of Mary (AS MARY ALSO SAID AT FATIMA IN 1917) in order to defeat the powers of HELL! THE GRACES AVAILABLE through the use of The Green Scapular are in proportion to the fervor, sincerity and confidence accompanying its use! That is the meaning of the different sizes of the rays falling from the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary during her last apparition to Sister Justine Bisqueyburu. HOW TO ARRANGE
A GREEN SCAPULAR PROJECT
IN YOUR PARISH 1. Ask the existing adult groups already active within your parish to fund the purchase of The Green Scapulars. Adult groups include: The Knights of Columbus, The Holy Name Society, Bible Study Group, The Sodality, The Ladies of Charity, The Blue Army, Parents Teachers Association, etc. Purchase The Green Scapulars through a local Catholic Bookstore or directly through the contacts listed above. 2. Ask the members of the Youth Group to "man the entrances" of the parish church at every Mass one weekend, in order to give a Green Scapular to everyone entering Church that weekend. We hope to encourage cooperation between the Adult Groups and the Youth Groups with this approach! 3. Ask your Parish Priests to bless The Green Scapulars, then explain the history and devotion of The Green Scapular of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and then explain the proper use (especially the daily recitation of the prayer) of The Green Scapular. In this way, we hope to encourage the active participation of our holy priests in this project! WHAT WILL BE THE RESULTS
AND EFFECTS OF THIS PROJECT? Hundreds (maybe thousands) of parishoners will suddenly have a Very Holy, Powerful and Blessed Sacramental of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in their possession. They will all be asked to pray The Green Scapular Prayer at least once every day. Many will wear it. Many will carry it with them. Many will place it in their homes in a place where it will remind them to say the beautiful little prayer every day. What a difference it will make! Over time, as the prayerful activity continues, and as the Holy Presence of this Blessed Green Scapular continues in their lives, the Blessed Virgin Mary will help all of the recipients (who pray!!!) to increase in holiness! Mary will also help those for whom the prayer is offered silently and secretly! An increase in holiness is good for every soul.
